Amy Koch PT, COMT, STMT-1
Amy Koch, MPT, COMT, STMT-1, is the physical therapy clinic manager at Methodist Physicians Clinic Regency. She earned her master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Evansville in Indiana. She is a certified orthopedic manual therapist through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and a STMT-1 soft tissue manual therapist using instrument-assisted manual therapy.
In her role, Koch leads and manages the day-to-day operations of the physical therapy clinic while also providing quality care herself.
Koch’s decision to specialize in physical therapy was an easy choice – and personal. She was initially inspired while receiving therapy after suffering sports-related injuries. She also has a close family member who was diagnosed with a life-changing autoimmune disease.
“Watching the disease unfold reinforced my desire to practice physical therapy,” she said.
Now when working with patients, she strives to provide effective care through listening and staying positive.
“I especially love helping a patient realize how important a strong core is to shoulder, hip and knee health,” she said.
Koch is passionate about her family and sports. Her husband is a high school baseball coach, and her son plays select baseball.
“There’s nothing better than sitting at a baseball game, freeing my mind from stress and worries, and cheering them on,” she said.
Away from the diamond, she can be found watching her daughter’s ballet practices, supporting her two older stepchildren and rooting for Omaha Westside, Husker, Doane and Creighton athletics. She also enjoys exercising, spending summer days by the pool, downhill skiing and traveling.
