Amanda Held PT, DPT
Amanda Held, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist specializing in orthopedics at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest. She completed her medical training at Creighton University.
A former soccer, cross country and track athlete, Held became interested in physical therapy after being a patient herself.
“I was convinced that I wanted to be a physical therapist and help people get back to doing what they love, just like I had experienced,” she said.
Held chose to specialize in orthopedics because of the variety.
“I get to treat ailments from the neck all the way to the big toe,” she said. “I also get to see people of all ages and backgrounds. Each day is exciting.”
She enjoys working at Methodist because of the close relationships she forms with medical staff and patients. The tight-knit but open atmosphere lets her offer complete care that not only helps patients heal, but also empowers them to gain control over their health.
Held spends most of her free time with her husband, little boy and their dog, Pepper (who is her No. 1 running buddy). She likes hiking, gardening, cooking with her husband and baking. “I make homemade bread the old-fashioned way almost every weekend, and I think I make a pretty mean apple pie,” she said.
