Bonnie Wilkerson PA-C
Bonnie Wilkerson, PA-C, is a physician assistant specializing in urogynecology at Methodist Physicians Clinic 192Dodge, adjacent to Methodist Women’s Hospital. She completed her medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Wilkerson’s interest in medicine began at an early age while accompanying her accident-prone father to the doctor. She had to be given a stool to sit on so she wouldn’t be in the way “helping” the doctor check out his injuries.
While training to be a physician assistant, she discovered her love for taking care of female patients. Urogynecology gave her the opportunity to do that full time. She is particularly interested in working with patients using InterStim bladder control therapy.
“I strive to treat every patient as I would want to be treated, and to give advice as if I was talking to a family member,” she said.
Wilkerson’s love of helping patients is matched by her pride in being part of Methodist Health System.
“It’s an honor to be part of a system that is continually evolving to make things better for our patients,” she said.
When she’s not working, Wilkerson likes to jog and read. Much of her free time is spent with her husband and their two children. They enjoy spending time outdoors, making crafts and doing anything that makes them laugh – for example, Wilkerson knows how to walk on her hands.
