Lanette Guthmann M.D.
Dr. Lanette Guthmann can pinpoint the exact moment she decided to become a physician. Up until the eighth grade, she had always believed only men became doctors. It wasn’t until her family's physician told her she was more than capable, especially given her affinity for math and science, that she resolved to pursue a medical profession.
His encouragement resonated with Dr. Guthmann throughout medical school and residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She fulfilled the desire to become a physician, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, and now proudly works for Methodist Physicians Clinic.
Dr. Guthmann loves each and every one of her patients. Realizing she has often gone through the same struggles they have, she strives to relate to her patients, and works together with them to achieve greater health. She is so passionate about patient health that two hours after giving birth, she felt ready to deliver for one of her patients who had also gone into labor.
In her free time, Dr. Guthmann loves spending time with her family. She is an active member of her church, often giving educational talks to the congregation, as well as going on medical missionary trips. She also loves books, travel, and often unwinds from a long day’s work with her Nintendo Wii.
