Michael Klug M.D.
Dr. Michael Klug is an internal medicine doctor at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed an internal medicine residency at Creighton University.
Before becoming an internist, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Creighton and worked as a pharmacist for four years.
Dr. Klug believes his background as a pharmacist is an asset as he cares for his patients. But really getting to know them is just as important.
“We’re not just treating that single ailment or the single disease,” he said. “We’re involving the patient as a whole. Whether that’s other physical conditions they have, their mental health or their spiritual health, we’re taking all that into consideration. I think The Meaning of Care is involving all those aspects and putting together a treatment plan for them.”
He added: “I want them to know that I’m there to listen. I’m there to hear what their biggest concerns are.”
Exercise and healthy eating are among Dr. Klug’s interests. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, and he’s a college football fan.
“Of course, growing up in Nebraska, I was born and raised a big Nebraska football fan,” he said. “It’s pretty easy to strike up a conversation about that.”
