Physician Q & A

Why did you decide to become a physician?

The skills I had were best suited to becoming a doctor and I could use them to help people.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

I am interested in all orthopedics, but particularly joint replacement (including elbow and shoulder) and sports injuries. I specialize in all aspects of orthopedic surgery including sports medicine, joint replacements, fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and knee and shoulder surgery.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

Do what’s right for the patient, especially what will be best for the long-term.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I spend most of my free time with family and attending kids' events. I still coach several sports and I am the high school baseball commissioner for Suburban Baseball. I like to hunt, boat and ski. I also usher at church.

Provide an interesting anecdote about you.

Dr. Franco and I have either gone to school or worked together for all but 4 years of our lives.
