Why did you decide to become a physician?

I had an interest in helping others and an aptitude in science. Being in the Boy Scouts introduced me to medicine and first aid.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

My areas areas of interest are all aspects of family medicine, especially geriatrics and osteoporosis.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

My philosophy of patient care is that I have a partnership with my patients. On complicated issues I discuss different options and work with the patient to make the best decision.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I play tennis and golf and work out with weights. I also enjoy yard work and spending time with my family.

Provide an interesting anecdote about you.

I still make rounds every day at the hospital. Many times longtime patients remark that they enjoy seeing a familiar face and seeing someone they know during a stressful time.
