Why did you decide to become a physician?

I was always interested in medicine. I was born premature and was very interested in the stories surrounding my first days of life and how extraordinary the people were who helped save my life.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

I am most interested in the electronic medical record in health care. If used properly, I believe all patients may benefit. The potential is there as long as the proper guidance is given along the way.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

I believe that the trend of medical care is that the patients are consumers and the physicians are providing a service. Patients need to be given the available options and educated about them and directed to a decision with their physician.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I love to stay active by jogging and participating in team sports. I also enjoy traveling, reading and jigsaw puzzles. I always make time for family and love watching our family grow.

Provide an interesting anecdote about you.

In my spare time, I enjoy learning about United States history. I love visiting the historical cities from the Revolutionary and Civil War era. I enjoy walking in the same streets and hallways as our founding fathers.
