Physician Q & A
Why did you decide to become a physician?
A physician has a great responsibility to care for others when they are often at their most vulnerable. I find this challenge a great honor and privilege.
What are your clinical areas of interest?
I have a special interest in preventive health care, sports medicine and pediatrics. As a family medicine physician I enjoy seeing infants, children, adolescents and adults.
What is your philosophy of patient care?
My philosophy regarding your health care is to be your advocate and to prevent disease. Continuity of care is very important, and a long term partnership is essential for my patients overall health. If a patient becomes ill or develops a chronic health problem they can be confident that they will receive comprehensive care in the office and hospital setting.
How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)
I enjoy spending my free time with my two young children and my wife. I try to stay active by running and playing golf when time permits. My wife and I enjoy volunteering in the church nursery.
Provide an interesting anecdote about you.
I am a DO or osteopathic physician. Osteopathic doctors are fully qualified physicians licensed to prescribe medication and perform surgery. Sixty-five percent of DOs practice as primary care physicians such as family medicine. You can find out more about my profession at www.osteopathic.org.
