What made you choose a medical career?
I have always had a love for anatomy and sciences. Pair that with my want to work with and help people to the best of my abilities and I found health care was a good fit for me.
What are your clinical areas of interest?
I love activities of daily living, and that is why I'm an Occupational Therapist. I want to be sure that after someone is ill that they regain strength and become as independent as possible, and be safe.
What is your philosophy of patient care?
Treat your patients as if they are family. I would want someone to give my family members care to the best of their abilities, so I therefore expect the same of myself.
How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)
I volunteer at a wonderful organization called HETRA here in Omaha (www.hetra.org). They offer therapeutic horseback riding to children with mental and physical disabilities. I also dabble in photography and love crafty things.
