Associate of Science Physical Therapist Assistant, Clarkson College, Omaha, NE
What made you choose a medical career?
I chose a physical therapy career because I enjoy the problem-solving and hands-on aspects of direct patient care.
What are your clinical areas of interest?
My clinical areas of interest are orthopedics and inpatient rehabilitation.
What is your philosophy of patient care?
My view of physical therapy is that each person who comes to the hospital or clinic has his/her own story, and in therapy we connect that story with current issues and future goals. We provide the tools needed to return to a previous lifestyle or develop a "new normal."
How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)
I spend my free time with friends and family sharing the outdoors, faith or a good cup of coffee.
Provide an interesting anecdote about you.
One time as I was moving a patient's painful shoulder, he asked me, "Does your mother know what you do?" (The answer is yes, and she still loves me.)
