What made you choose a medical career?

I am a people person and choose a career that would place me directly with a variety of people every day. These individuals inspire me to make a difference every day.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

I am most interested in adolescents. I strive to make them as comfortable as possible and enjoy teaching them about body processes and hopefully helping them along on their journey toward adulthood.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

I provide information to patients so that they are able to make informed decisions. Patient choice is at the center of my beliefs.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I have four children and a happy husband. Extra time I have after being with them is spent gardening and working on do-it-yourself home improvement projects. I like physical labor!

Provide an interesting anecdote about you.

My career choice at times doesn’t ever feel like work. I love making a difference for mothers and babies. I am happiest when I see a new mother holding a new baby in her arms. I love it when a women sees how strong she is when she accomplishes something as hard as labor and birth.
