What made you choose a medical career?
I was a five sport athlete in high school, and have been an avid exerciser my whole life. I have had many injuries, and I’ve always been fascinated with human movement. After volunteering in physical therapy, I was convinced that a career in physical therapy was the right path for me. I know now that I made the right choice.
What are your clinical areas of interest?
My clinical interest is in outpatient orthopedics. I have specialty training in treating the spine, so that is my primary focus. However, I treat most orthopedic injuries.
What is your philosophy of patient care?
I believe that we should do our best to get patients better in as few visits as possible. We should also teach patients to take care of themselves so they don't need care in the future.
How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)
My free time is usually spent with my wife, Julie, and our three kids. We enjoy camping and sports. I enjoy reading and exercise, as well.
Provide an interesting anecdote about you.
I’ve always tried to guide my actions by the following: Do the right thing.
